Accel is gearing up to host India's largest Cybersecurity Summit on July 25, 2024, in Bengaluru with a focus on nurturing early-stage cybersecurity startups in India. The event aims to gather security operators, CISOs, and renowned founders worldwide. Startups will have the opportunity to showcase their innovations and pitch to influential figures from large enterprises and tech unicorns like PhonePe, Groww, Cred, and Flipkart.
India's cybersecurity sector has experienced rapid growth, reaching approximately USD 6 billion in 2023 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) exceeding 30% from 2019 to 2023. The products segment alone expanded more than threefold, surging from USD 1 billion in 2019 to close to USD 3.7 billion in 2023, according to a report by the Data Security Council of India.
Prayank Swaroop, Partner at Accel, highlighted India's evolving cybersecurity landscape, emphasizing opportunities for Indian founders to build global cybersecurity companies. Accel has backed over 50 cybersecurity firms globally, many founded by Indians, underscoring the potential in sectors like AI in cybersecurity, application security, and security operations.
The summit will feature four distinct knowledge tracks catering to diverse interests: Application Security, Security Operations, AI in Security, and Founders in Security. Additionally, there will be a pavilion for startups and data security teams to showcase their products.
The event boasts an impressive lineup of speakers including industry leaders such as Ajit Sancheti, Ankur Bhargava, Himanshu Das, Ross Haleliuk, Jossef Harush, Anthony Belfiore, Prajal Kulkarni, Ashwath Kumar, Ruchir Patwa, Ansh Patnaik, Anand Prakash, Raghuveer Kancherla, and Avinash Nagla.
