THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala Startup Mission's 'startup infinity' initiative, designed to encourage Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to establish businesses or invest in startups, is set to broaden its scope. After the successful launch of the first startup infinity center in Dubai last June, KSUM is gearing up to establish centers in Brussels, Belgium; Sydney, Australia; and New Jersey, USA, this year. The Dubai center has garnered positive interest, with 50 high-net-worth individuals (HNIs) expressing interest in collaborating with the center to initiate their own businesses or invest in innovative startups in Kerala.
All 50 individuals have received membership cards and will undergo eight months of training in technology sector investment and launching IT startups. Monthly investor education programs called 'Ignite' have been scheduled, and launchpads in different countries will be developed to provide startups with global exposure. Following the completion of training, participants can either invest in startups based in Kerala or launch their own businesses in West Asia.
Currently, ten startups from Kerala have been shortlisted to work with the Dubai infinity center, including Doctosmart, Zero Earth, Edwin Infotech, B4brain, Orditt Enterprises, Estro Tech Robotics, Ethlink Blockchain Services, Indo Grace MS, Live to Smile, and Algimate Dental Systems. A tripartite agreement has been signed with the first six startups.
Anoop Ambika, CEO of KSUM, stated, "The infinity program has received an exceptional response in Dubai. The primary goal is to provide global exposure to 15,000 startups in the state, enabling them to connect with various investor communities abroad. We aim to introduce innovative startups to HNIs for potential investment or business initiation. Expanding our presence to Australia, the US, and Belgium will enhance the exposure and business opportunities for our startups."
